Restoring A GDFS

Restoring the GDFS (Writing GDFS)

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Don’t Write GDFS simply just because something happened and your phone is not starting. Its written only if gdfs is corrupt.

If your phone for some reason behaves abnormally and fails to start and you get a white screen of death when you try to start your phone, then its time to restore the backup of the gdfs you had made. In case you have not made a backup of gdfs then there is no way to fix the phone , In such a case Contact Me.

Go through the GDFS Backup Post once if you have not read it.

Do Not Unnecessarily write a GDFS if your phone is working good.

VERY IMPORTANT: Your phone GDFS is unique to your phone. Writing a GDFS from any other phone will permanently damage your phone beyond repair. You must always write a gdfs that came from your very own handset. Lets say you have a w610i and you try to restore a gdfs that came from your friends w610i then your phone is in big trouble. Hence make sure that the GDFS that your writing is your own GDFS.

Download XS++

Charge your phone battery to 100%

Click connect phone in XS++
Shutdown and reinsert battery
Connect Phone holding C
In Configuration Select GDFS.
Select the gdfs to restore. Click Write GDFS.

Reinsert battery Start Phone.
Your phone must now work flawlessly

Hello Akshay. I had some problems when trying to unlocking my s500i, maybe the battery was gone in between the process. The thing is that now my phone is dead, I can’t turn it on, charge it, etc. Fortunately, i had backed up de GDFS, so with XS++ i want to restore it. But is very difficult to connect the phone to the programme, and when i’m already connected, the process called “Activating GDFS…” is taking more than 20 minutes. Is that normal?

  5. Akshay says

the phone does not start .. what does that mean ??
does the Red light at the infrared port blink when you try to start your phone ?

  6. Akshay says

Tithsya .. unfortunately there is no other way. ! sorry .. GDFS is something important
i don’t know if any paid tool can repair your phone

Hi. I tried to use SE update tool. As a result when the phone turned on the welcome screen appeared then the setup progress bar with the message ‘Please Wait’. The problem is my k550 stucked at this step. You’ve got any idea? Good luck!
Oh i forget to tell you that my k550 got problem because it was flashed with k800 firmware. By the way would you mind sending me complete firmware for k550 (Fs, m, custpack…). Cos i want to have reflash.

  16. Peti says

The ‘Please Wait’ screen is because the phone is applying a customization xml file. It might take long, so I suggest you should wait for a few minutes. If it isn’t working then, reflash main and FS, and upload a cuspack. You can find K550i’s stuff here: http://www.thinkdigit.com/forum/showthread.php?p=628213#post628213

please help me i have a k800i and i tried to unlock it using he se tool 2 software when i started the phone back up again it said “configuration error. Please contact your network operator or service centre.” I have restored the gdfs but the same message pop’s up. PLease ihelp me what do i do. I just want the phone to go back to normal. Please… i need the phone to work

  24. pav says

i knoiw there is an nulcok/repair function on the se tool 2 software do i use that? please help me im desperate

  25. Peti says

What is a Sony Ericsson unlocked by GDFS?!

@pav: You shouldn’t just write GDFS whenever something goes wrong. Configuration error happens when you don’t have the necessary cfg files. So try to upload a custpack, if it isn’t working, then reflash FS and then upload the cust_pack.
Also if that doesn’t work, do full reflashing.
SeTool 2 Lite doesn’t have those functions…. (only full version)

  26. Pav says

Thanks for the help phone is working 100% now. Cheers. I used the Xs++ software i cnt remember exactly what i did now but its working fine.

By the way what exactly is a cust_pack.

    Thanks again

  27. Peti says

Custpack is a set of files, most importantly, scripts. The customize.xml is applied and written into the GDFS when you start your phone after you flashed FS. It configures the phone. Sets what languages it supports, what time is the earliest that it should support etc.

  28. pav says

hello again, after successfully unlocking my phine i have found the following problems:

. when i try to download applications from the mobile internet (WAP) an error message keeps popping up saying “operation failed”

Is there any way to fix this problem and is it becasue i have unlocked my phone maybey i have done something wrong?

. The second problem is that i downlaoded the application from my pc and installed it into my phone via bluetooth becasue i couldnt use the mobile wap to downlaod the application

the application i downloaded was windows live messenger and when i answer yes to allow the phone to access the internet it keeps saying server timed out.

Does anyone know how to fix these two problems… and has anyone else come accross these problems?

  29. pav says

ps.. the phone is a k800i

  30. Peti says

I guess you reflashed FS and the custpack you used does not have the right settings for Wap. Try to configure it somehow, use google and ask flashers from your country or download the setting files from a phone from the same country with the same provider… Strange, because when I flashed, my new WAP settings worked ok…

  31. Akshay says

download settings from sony ericsson website !
it should work then fine !

this is no way related to unlocking and stuff !

  32. pav says

i have allready downlaoded the settings for the network from the sonyericsson website and am still having the same problem. I have done soem research and looked into some forums in actual fact this problem semms to be very common on k800’s after unlcoking them using the setool 2. some people have said to reflash the phone but i dnt want to risk wrecking my phone again. How can i install a different cust pack?

Can you run me through the steps…

  33. pav says

Another question… i have though about using SEUS on my phone which might get the settings to work but i wanted to make sure by asking
what will happen if you use seus after flashing and unlcoking your phone via patch and if i do use it, will my phone become locked again??

  34. Luv says

    Hi Akshay,
I want to debrand my phone but i also want to make sure that i can put it back branded if i need to replace it with warranty. Will writing the GDFS put the original firmware back on or do i need anything else? Please help me. Thnx in advance.

  35. Peti says

pav. Sorry for late reply. To install a different cust pack, you should reflash FS. Don’t use SEUS, because it will probably update the phone to CID53, so it will be useless, not flashable.
Luv. I’ve read somewhere that they can spot it anyway, so it’s no use trying. You will need the custpack of your service provider, or you need to hack in the file system and download all customization things. Also acquire the same firmware version as it is now. Though I think it won’t be possible, becasue your phone might be a CID51, and when you flash it, you update to CID52, and you won’t be able to revert it back. Or maybe by restoring a GDFS that was read before flashing… but how?…
So I doubt you could make it without losing warranty.

  36. Luv says

Oh thats not good then. What are the advanages of debranding it anyways?

  37. Peti says

It depends on the phone. You can delete the provider-related stuff from the phone at first. Remove limits as you can’t apply flash themes (if the phone would be capable of doing so). The real good thing about all of this isn’t the debranding itself, you can apply patches that can change almost everything in the phone. My favourite patch is the one that causes a flashing light at the bottom of my phone.

  38. Luv says

What do you mean by flashing light at the bottom of your phone? By the way, where can I find all these cool patches and how do i install then? Thank in advance!

  39. Peti says

My K550i had a LED on the back side. That is flashing when I have a call. Patches are from mobilefree.ru.

  40. Luv says

Ok thanks, but is there an american website to find patches?

  41. krz says

I’m trying to flash my s500 but its saying header type: unknown/damaged. what do i do?

  42. Peti says

It is probably wrong CID number. Check it in phone info.

  43. Luv says

What is a GDFS? What would happen if i restore it?

  44. Peti says

GDFS is a set of values. Some of them are just for storing tasks and calendar, but others are necessary to start the phone. If those get damaged, the phone is bricked, unless you restore a backup of that GDFS, or make a hacked one.
And there is no american site, but we are making a site where we are collecting patches. http://seflashing.extra.hu/ but we need help from users all over the world. πŸ˜€

  45. P1mania says

    Hi Akshayy,
I have flashed a P1i, that I bought from Hong Kong to GW1 using XS++, then updated software with SEUS.

I started to have problems in receiving and getting calls, so I restored GDFS (my backup), without flashing the phone. However, now my phone displays two organizer codes and two CDA’s as below:

    Phone:
    CXC162037 R9J005

    Bluetooth:
    CXC162143 R1D

    Organizer:
    CXC162156 R6F41
    CXC162108 R6F41

    CDA:
    CDA162024/74 R10A
    CDA162022/1 R6F38

I still have problems with receiving calls. Can you help me to restore back to original (to HK with my backup GDFS)

    Thanks a million!

  46. Peti says

You mustn’t use SEUS after using XS++. Besides reflashing main and fs probably fixes this problem, but I don’t think that this is too much of a problem, you can only see this in secret menu…

  47. Akshay says

sorry i don’t know in case of smart phones
you should try to reflash main and fs .. a

I reflashed the main and it worked!! Thank you so much!! Btw ive looked at other websites and this is the most easiest to understand..

    nice
that was obvious.. i thought you had already tried the option of relfash !

  57. Vivek says

    Hello Akshay and John

i had taken firmware and GDfs backup of my phone SE W810i with following specification
    Platform DB2010
    OTP CID: 49
    EROM CID: 49
    EROM Color: Red
    IMEI: 35906400xxxxxx
    Phone ID: W810
    Region: S_ASIA_LEVAN
    CDA: CDA102494/139 R1A
    Firmware Version: R4DB005
    EROM: n/a

But after backup phone has become dead. For backup i used the SEtool2lite 1.11 and for
    GDFS backup used XS++ 3

Only different thing i had done is
i clicked Profile Phone under Profile: ( This is in GDFS Operations XS++ 3).
Now i have many backup binaries.
Full backups from SEtool with start 40040000,44000000, 40040000 all with length 00020000, 02000000.
Phone is detected in XS++ and SEtool but do not turn on.
tried gdfs restore πŸ™ didn’t worked for me).
    No blinking on IR LED.
Then i tried to take gdfs backup after restore option, new file size is less than 100 kb around 88 kb but the original backup file is 101 kb.

    What are my options?
Also please confirm the start address and length of main firmware and FS

    Thanks in Advance.

  58. John says

Try like what i did, reflash the main. Might work.

  59. Vivek says

    How do i reflash main?
i mean with what software application and what is start address and also what is the length?
what format is the main and fs files?
i have binary backup with me.

  61. Akshay says

well flash your FS and MAIN !!
download them from may be here
    http://www.sek750.extra.hu/letoltes/

i found on the website for my w850..
but my firmware version is R1ED001
is it possible to flash it with R1KG001?

  63. Peti says

Yes sure. But if you are using a different fw version, you must reflash both main and fs, because they might be incompatible (different versions). πŸ˜‰

  67. sergage says

Hi. I’m in big trouble here. I tried to flash my K810 with a Walkman patch using SEtool2 Lite, now the phone won’t start at all. I hold the power button but nothing’s happening. I used correct firmware, I’m sure of it. Correct color and stuff. Although it was a FBN file, not MBN as the tutorial had said (oops). I have a GDFS backup which I made just before doing all this. I’m trying to restore it but neither XS++ nor SEtool2 1.11 would do it. XS++ just hangs doing nothing for dozens of minutes straight, SEtool2 refuses to restore, sais “CSloader refused to start GDFS services, error is:29 failed, that is fatal”. So what can be done here? After all I DO have the GDFS backup.

file system consists of all tpa, ifs queue, system

  71. sergage says

    Well I can’t flash anything now, cuz i have CID 53 πŸ˜€ . Ain’t it funny?

  72. Akshay says

lol….. now nothing can be done..
JD Flasher Support CID53 .. but its too confusing.. i am soo confused what loaders to use … i will have to manually find out and set the flash loaders and put up the tutorial here.

  73. Smiley989 says

I f’ed dred i tried to patch my w610i and now i flashed it and i cannot locate my gdfs. Is there really nothing that i can do?

  74. Peti says

Like reflash your main. Patching can only f*ck up main, not GDFS, however, most beginners think that then they need to restore GDFS.

  75. Smiley989 says

i got my phone to work but now it blanks out
after a fe seconds wat shyould i do then? And thanks for ur help on the first problem

  76. Peti says

It may be the battery. But if you have modified stuff in the phone’s file system, then you will have to reflash FS and custpack. If these won’t work, you will need a hacked GDFS. :S

  77. Smiley989 says

ok how do i do those and if needed were can i get a hacked gdfs

  78. Peti says

    http://www.akshayy.com/sonyericsson/tutorials/flash-firmwaredebrand-with-xs/
Long ago I’ve found such gdfs hacking tutorial. It was like get the gdfs of a phone that is identical to yours, and apply a few scripts in SeTool2 and then it should be all right. But I don’t know where it was. :S

  79. vidyadhar parulekar says

whats wrong with you guys, the tutorial is absolutely to the point, why dont you guys read the tutorial. flashing the firmware is like flashing the bios on the motherboard. its not childsplay, its not software installation. follow the tutorial point by point. write down the procedure. try to learn it by heart. you will have no problems. 100% battery means 100% battery. backup gdfs means backup gdfs. its like an order, so obey else you end up with a dead phone.

  80. vidyadhar parulekar says

dear akshayy, can i wipe out the main and the FS and then the cust pack of my fone leaving the gdfs intact so that its open to further firmware flashing. safely ? eg. i want to write some other fones main,FS,cust pack (experiment), then if it conks, rewrite the original main,FS & cust pack ? my wifes got a k550 too. ca i backup main,FS n cust pack of her fone to my laptop and then experiment ?

  81. Smiley989 says

    thanks foryour help guys

  82. Akshay says

    i did not get you…
gdfs is left intact by XS++ and SeTool 2 lite
but using Far Manager you can rip the gdfs also if you know the GDFS Address in flash chip that is.

you want to try to flash k550 to other phones ?? did you say that ??
First… you can’t do backup of Main/FS/CDA which is already in phone.
instead you download k550 main and fs and flash it back in k550 after your experiments.

most of the times nothing happens. some times EROM will die when bad cross flash happens. that can be fixed
writing bad/alien gdfs also kill EROM. again first restore EROM then immediately write back original gdfs without starting phone.

  83. Peti says

So I can never kill my phone?:O Not even with flashing totally different fw?:O

  84. Akshay says

    yes most of the times.

  85. newbie says

akshay.. i do need ur help… i had read my gdfs but in the end i’ve got a message said thats is fatal bla bla bla … and my phone cant starting when i try to tunr it on… i already have a backup for gdfs, then i try to restore backup … said “

  87. Akshay says

newbie that’s bad. use XS++ and try to reflash FS and Main and cda. which phone ?
check out flashing tutorial with xs++

  88. Dinesh says

    hi,

I recently ‘patched’ my k800i with this command
    gdfswrite:000000AC12
in SEtool. I believed that that would make my phone work in the 850 Mhz band (how foolish)
While the software info does SAY its 850Mhz enabled. It really isn’t. Tried and tested.

would you recommend I restore my backed up gdfs to overwrite this? i’ve not patched or done anything with the phone since this 850 mhz ‘patch’.

Why bother restoring? Knowing that configuration still sits in my phone is a constant reminder of my stupidity = )

    thanks

  89. Akshay says

    Try restoring.
Am not sure if those values were also backed up

  90. helmi says

    hi…
today i did flashed into my K810i….
but…unfortunately when i tried to on my K810i,itz juz came blinking n blinking….wat should i do?

  91. Akshay says

what exactly did you do ?
and why are you restoring your gdfs.
    what’s the problem…. ??

  92. helmi says

actually i’m trying to do patch into my phone vkp….but itz became blinking when i’m trying to switch on my phone…..
i dun y?i also did restore my gdfs…itz still same..

    2) why i cant played the game when i’m trying to open it?itz keep said “Operation failed”?

  93. Akshay says

now reflash main and fs and cda.
    see the xs++ flashing/debranding tutorial

  94. Peti says

And backup contacts before doing so… πŸ˜›

  95. Peti says

I don’t know if this helps anyone or not… but I found it long ago and then I couldn’t find it for a while, and now I stumbled into it:
    http://myforum.lasyk.net/showthread.php?t=39486
It is about fixing dead GDFS, without backup.

  96. Mino says

PLease can you help? I have this problem and i have forgotten to make a copy. My mobile ist w810i

  97. Peti says

You have ‘this’ problem? Then I suggest reflashing main, fs and custpack.

  98. Mino says

Any manual? And is it easy? I’m kinda noob

  99. Akshay says

just backup the gdfs now. that’s all.

  100. Mino says

It’s teh corrupted one. WHy would i do that if it’s not working?

  101. Peti says

While trying to fix it, you may screw it up even more, that’s why it is better to have a copy of a corrupted GDFS that to have a dead phone.
Before hacking GDFS, did you try reflashing main and fs? Many people don’t try it, but it isn’t the solution in most of the cases.

  102. Akshay says

Mino !! that sucks !! your gdfs is gone ??
how can you say that your gdfs is gone ??

also which phone. i hope its a db2020 .. then i can help you fix that dead phone … provided some brings you a gdfs of same phone. this is risky.

  103. jc says

  112. Peti says

Can’t you take it back to the service center guys? Not flashing gdfs seems to be erom failure, but that is not likely, because it was fixed recently. If you can’t take it back and you have a backup of gdfs, you can try connecting the phone to pc holding 2+5. Also try using the SeTool EROM fixing method in the red light tutorial.

    hi akshayy…wat s GDFS.can u explain it briefly..plz..plz..wat s use of flashing d mobile and how to flash it…?

  122. Peti says

gdfs is a set of variables. Some of them contain your data, like calendar, tasks. Others are necessary to start the phone. When those get damaged, you can end up with a bricked phone, though in most cases it can be brought back.
Flashing mobile – debranding, unlocking, custom camera/display/sound drivers, custom menu and layout, elves etc…

  123. wan says

  125. Peti says

@wan: check the files there fonts.xml, and two ttf files, Sans-Serif. If you deleted them, follow the tut here to unpack an fs (which you can get at sek750.extra.hu). Get the files from an unpacked fs.
@sreekanthkrishna: nice name.XD W810?!! Stupid thing, totally different hardware architecture. Don’t you mean W610?:O
If W810, then the EROM is damaged, I think. Connect to SeTool2, and click “unlock/repair”. That should fix it. Then reflash main.

    thanks

    tony

  129. Akshay says

dude let me tell you … gdfs in left untouched in all cases like unlocking flashing etc

now just backup your gdfs. no big deal .. it has not changed.

some people press random buttons. they are crazy and they seriously need gdfs backup.

now just REFLASH your phone with XS++ and phone should work well.

Tell me what’s the problem, you are not telling anything. Neither you show logs nor you tell me how the phone reacts now to XS++ and SeTool 2 lite and also you don’t tell what happens when phone starts.

  130. Akshay says

TONY Playing with GDFS is something extreme. Lets not play with it. Unless you really have written alien gdfs into phone. or written a script in place of gdfs in gdfs area.
which i am sure you have not done.

incase you wrote back alien gdfs then phone is dead.
we could try recovery which is of course terrible risky. and i am sure you don’t need anything as such. since your gdfs is still clean and good.

  131. anupam says

    Isn’t it W660 right now?
Anyway, you must download CID 53 firmwares for it from share2flash.com. Then use JDFlasher (oflash) to flash them on.

  139. Task says

I just unbranded my phone and installed flash themes on my phone… worked like a charm! I did it with my girl’s phone and it is messed up bad. The screen wraps around and is all fuzz and stuff. I used the exact same files for her phone as mine…after that I used my gdfs to restore into hers… bricked it… but thank god I saved a copy of hers… so I restored her gdfs and now I am still with a unbranded phone with a messed up display! … Its a w580… any help please πŸ™‚

  140. Janii says

    Hi Akshay,
I unbranded my w580 last night. I also backed up the GDFS and used Setools to unbrand it. Everything was successful!

Here’s the thing: I forgot to save some of my data like my contacts, text messages, bookmarks, downloaded themes, etc. I thought these were on the SIM and M2 memory stick I pulled out before i unbranded it. My question is this: does the backup GDFS contain this “lost” data or just configuration files for the w580i phone?

I wanted to restore the GDFS and see if I could get my “lost” data back; back it up somewhere to safe keeping.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

    JMF

  141. Akshay says

Task , lol if you don’t follow instruction properly that’s what happens.

now just reflash fs and main and cda.

if phone blinks white you have killed the gdfs. restoring gdfs is only solution. nothing can be done beyond it.

  142. Akshay says

    Janii.
no man the gdfs backup you made won’t have all that.

  143. Gazmend says

Get menu.ml from one of these archives. http://sek750.extra.hu/letoltes/?path=./Directory%20Files/K800/
Use XS++ FSX or FAR or JDFlasher to upload it.

w800i — permanent white screen — no GDFS backup —where do I go from here………
    regards IAN

  147. Peti says

First you tell what you did to it. Then check if the memory stick is in, I once had white screen with a K750@W800 because of bad mem stick.

  148. IAN EDWARDSON says

    Hi Peti,
w800i was working OK for several years, then one morning on power-up the WSOD. Plugged in power supply to charge battery—–black screen.
Used SEUS update—–ran OK but problem persists.
Yes memory stick is in—-removed stick (is that correct)——same result.

  149. Peti says

It looks very much like a hardware problem, but still you can try this:
Open XS++, connect the phone. Get firmwares according to your CID number (see in xs++ log tablet, erom cid). Flash them on, following the xs++ tutorial here. Then get a CDA (aka custpack) and flash it on, too. You can get them from the download page, I think.

  150. IAN EDWARDSON says

Before following your advice, I have no idea of the battery charge level. Is there any way of checking this ?

  151. Peti says

Well there are technical tools to check the battery voltage, but that’s not really SE flashing stuff. Ask a friend with same or almost same phone (only battery must be the same) to change batteries?

  152. IAN EDWARDSON says

Thanks Peti……I am a Machine tool electrical/electronic technician, i’m just being lazy—maybe hoping to use any knowledge base to check the battery as such items are not really relevant to my profession. I have an array of tech. equipment which just requires me to research the relevant info and charging characteristics of the battery involved……..then we can get back to the flashing stuff. Will reply ASAP with any reliable way of checking battery charge unless a friend has the same battery….cheers

  153. Santhoshkumar says

Hi, my k710i went dead. i didnt back up GDFS. Is there is any way to fix the problem?.

  154. Peti says

Yes, you should first try reflashing main and fs (and cda). Also check if the red light is blinking.

  155. Santhoshkumar says

Thanks for the reply. No the red light is not blinking. What shall i do?

  156. Akshay says

    what’s the problem then ?
go for a reflash, it software has crashed badly.
check out XS++ tutorials links in LEFT Sidebar

  157. Santhoshkumar says

Now the mobile is working aftr reflashing it with XS++. Thanks very much for you help.

akshay. i have w580i on cid 53. it is blinking red. this means erom or gdfs right? the gdfs cannot be backed up because se tool does not support 53. so how can i backup my gdfs or get a fresh clean version? is this possible? or even put a new erom on it? can you help please

  159. Peti says

Currently there’s no solution for that. I’ve heard that XS++ 3.2 with CID53 support is about to come out, I don’t know if it will fix Dead EROM.
It looks like you’ll have to bring it to a service center. :S

Hey i need a bit of help i flashed my phone once and all was fine worked perfect then i noticed i didnt have my lighteffects so i tried to put the s500 TPA file with the w580 fs and main but now my phone wont turn on when i press the on button it just vibrates then nothing happens :S im very confuzed, i have an s500i. really need some help fast lol
Hope someone can give me advice on what to do, im just tried to put it all back to w580 fs n main n tpa to see if that sorts it out but still doing the same, :(.

if anyone can help could you please add me on msn or email me on [email protected]

any help would be much appreciated

    Thank you
    Adam

  161. adamW says

ahh here is an update, i have managed to get a copy of another s500i GDFS file and i have sorted it out and put the GDFS file in and put the old scripts back in then installed the fs and main files and tpa and the phone is in perfect working order again :D.

So it is possible to fix a damaged GDFS file and i dont even know what im doing with phones so if i can do it im sure other ppl can :D.

P.S. if anyone is wanting a GDFS file i have got K610, K790, K800, S500, W580, W610, W710, W850 and W880 files just send me an email if you want them, [email protected]

  162. alex says

my k810i cid53 has a white screen when i try to start it, it also vibrates twice…

is it the gdfs or is it a hardware problem

Alex: try flashing your phone with the right software and do the custom packs and if that doesnt sort it out then it could quite possibly be your gdfs, if it is your gdfs there is a way to fix it and get a gdfs file to replace it, unfortunatly i havent got a K810i gdfs i have a K800, K790 and a K610 gdfs but i am not sure if any of them will work on your model because they preset to funtion different parts of your phone, if you can find a K810i gdfs then the guide on how to fix a damaged one is on this forum >>> http://myforum.lasyk.net/showthread.php?t=39486

I fixed my gdfs and phone works fine so let us know how you get on

  164. Peti says

Yeah, well nice. But it won’t work for him. CID 53… he can’t do anything to his GDFS or EROM. Only try to reflash main and fs.

  165. James says

i break my gdfs … i dont have any backup
    i need w610 gdfs pleasee

    [email protected]

  166. Peti says

Your phone’s GDFS is unique to your phone, this means when you think your phone’s GDFS is gone, don’t try to flash someone else’s GDFS, it will almost certainly kill the phone.
Try reflashing main and fs befor thinking it’s gone.

hey akshayy my bro bought a k530i and i want to flash it to w660 the problem is that its cid 53 i have the main and fs of w660 cid 53 and jdflasher i want to make a backup of gdfs and since jdflasher cant backup gdfs are there any other free tools to backup cid 53 gdfs idont know much about cid 53 coz i have k550@w610 cid 52

  168. Peti says

There is no (free) way at the moment to backup CID 53 firmware. I think XS++’s new version will do it, but I have no idea when.

  169. Phil Hozier says

hey good afternoon akshayy, im in desperate need of your help
    plz help me;(
early this morning around 3am after extensively reading ur forums and tutoials about how to flash s500 to w580, i decided to flash my s500 to w580.
i downloaded all necessary files and backuped gdfs.

i have the logs of all the transactions done in xs++, i just want my old s500 back:( this phone wasnt even one month old! After flashing to w580, the screen images seem to be strecthed out horizantally with black lines running thruy them. In xs++, it said that the flash was successful but when i turned on the phone, the screen’s images were elongated. I flash phone again, but with diff cust pack, the problem happened.

So i finally decided to restore gdfs this morning after little or no sleep. After flashing my own gdfs .. My phone now tells me configuration error please contact your service provider.

i’m sorry to bother you, but if you can at all help me, that’d be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time in advance.

ps. if u forward me some way of attatching files, example: ur email add., i can send u the xs++ modding notes as well as pics of the phones current state. Thanks again.

My P1i is dead. If you can help me, it would be the best thing anybody has done for me. It started when i tried to update SEUS and it cut-off at about 90%. After that, i used xs++ to flash the CCPU ressurection package then i could update. Then one day while it was on, the keys were not responding and nothing was responding so i removed the battery and since then it has been dead since.I took it for professional flashing and after, they told me the phone flash completed but still doesnt come on. just flashes red at base. This is a log of ALL the things ive ever done to the phone with xs++. At the top, the phone was still working to some point.

  199. Poley says

Hey folks, need a bit of assistance!

My friend gave me his K800 when he upgraded, misinforming me that it was in fact a K790i (they do look very similiar, in fairness!). It was locked to 3 mobile, so I tried flashing it in order to unlock it. I followed the same procedure as the last phone I flashed (which turned out fine, it was a K610i), but I used the main and fs for a K790i for this one. I’m using XS++. Now my phone has the good old white screen of death, blinking on and off. I used the tutorial to restore the GDFS, but it hasn’t made a difference, still the white screen.
Is there any means of fixing it and unlocking it from 3?

    Much appreciated!

    @bhuvan,
If he just interchanged the FS and main, how come the phone is switching on?

    @Shrikant Sundar,
You cannot view the what, dude? If it’s getting connected to the PC with no problems, flash only the MAIN and see if the phone is working. If not, only then flash the FS. Also, I don’t think that you have flashed the FS in place of main, the phone would not have turned on in that case.

  222. Sreekanth Sundar says

the phone is turning on…..while booting it asks for menu select(NORMAL MODE/FLIGHT MODE) but after that the phone halts to load…. but i can get the shut down menu and also i can recive calls toooo….. but cannot acess the main menu and no buttons will work…
also when i type 112,911 emergency call symbol comes…..

  223. hellboy says

As bhuvan said, reflash MAIN and FS……
I think the files you have are corrupt. Download from somewhere else this time.

Hey Akshayy…great site…helped me unlock K790 and W880…i’m trying to fix my cousin’s w810….seems the gdfs is a bit corrupted…phone turns on and everything seems fine but in a minute or so it turns off itself…the model is shown as model….XS and SEtool detects it but xs says the imei and GDFS show different names…he’s doesnt know much about phones so he didn’t make a GDFS backup of his phone…help!!!

  247. Ravi Moonilall says

oh…forgot to mention…i tried to flash the main and fs with ones that i downloaded from a 4shared folder i think but i keep getting an error…i wonder if i should download another set and try again? only thing is i have dial up and it’s painfully slow…hehe..thanks for any help..

  248. Ravi Moonilall says

Now i realize that the main and fs i’m using are CID 49 and the d#&m phone is CID 50….i think the flashing may work now??? if i get the right file? know where i can get them from?? registering at topse.ru is lots of headache..i’ve tried and keep failing a long time ago…i’ll try again to register…thanks in advance for any help…

  249. Akshay says

Yuri Bhuana, you can’t flash some other phone gdfs into your phone. you should flash only your phone gdfs backup if you have.

  250. Akshay says

    Ravi,
Don’t know how to flash CID50, you should try reflashig with SEUS. or else SE service center can reflash phone for very cheap.
